NaNoWriMo Anyone?
A friend and I were at the local Barnes & Noble bookstore this morning browsing through the writing books and happened across No Plot? No Problem! I had not heard of the book or the event. I know, you're probably thinking, "where have you been?"
For those of you who are like me, NaNoWriMo is short for National Novel Writing Month. It was started several years ago (1999) and consists of a one-month period where you write every day - focusing on output, not perfection. The result is a 50,000 word novel by November 30.
Since I tend to be (somewhat of) a perfectionist, this appeals to me. Maybe it will let me loosen up a bit about writing. People have been known to remind me that I'm not writing a Pulitzer Prize entry. Why do I take this writing stuff so seriously? Anyway, I'm rambling...
