Proudly Blogging in Iowa
Wow - what a great month so far (1/3). It's been a blur while I recuperate from allergy symptoms - the last burst of warm weather was wonderful, but I'm always relieved (and breathe easier) when the temps turn colder.
November started out with the Bathroom Blogfest '06, my first Blog Tipping Day, NaNoWriMo and NaBloPoMo - what a commitment. The blog posting is definitely easier for me than the novel writing. Now, a post seems pretty short and 1,000 word class papers that used to be soooo long are a breeze when I consider 50,000 words. So far this exercise is working out well.
I have to brag a bit... PurpleWren was featured at the SOB Business Cafe and awarded the official SOB badge of achievement for week 54 by Successful Blog. Thanks, Liz. It's an honor to be included in this group. The badge is proudly displayed.
I talked to Kristie Tamsevicius (check out her book offer) and that might be where I learned about the WAH Expo that went on all week. I stopped in whenever possible. While I didn't have a chance to interact much with participants, I got a lot out of all the presentations. I was able to listen and work at the same time. Thanks to Tammy Munson and Wendy Cooper. They did an awesome job!
Then I had the opportunity to meet another blogger with an umpire (baseball) coaching background - the bawldguy at Behind the Curtain.
Today was a fun get-together. I joined fellow bloggers Mike Sansone, Tom Vander Well, Mike Wagner, Drew McLellan, Tim Johnson, Mitch Matthews, Doug Mitchell, and Brooke this morning at Panera U to welcome Starbucker to Iowa. It is always great to spend time with this bunch! You'll find photos at some of those links.
The rest of the day was spent at YBlawg, a blogging seminar for lawyers, presented by Brett Trout and Rush Nigut, with a guest appearance from Mike Sansone. Look for more events from LAWpportunities.
I spent this evening catching up with family - in person, on the phone and by email. Maybe now I'm wound down enough to sleep!
It's great to be a blogger.

You've got that right Sandra! What a day it was for all of us. All the best.

Good work Sandra. You have the right to do so. Best of luck.
