Enter the Six-Word Story Contest
It's Friday afternoon and time to relax a little. Are you into writing - words and storytelling?
Here's a fun contest that Robert Hzuzek at Middle Zone Musings has started. It's called Let's be Brief.
He refers to a November 2006 article in Wired. Check it out!
We'll be brief: Hemingway once wrote a story in just six words ("For sale: baby shoes, never worn.") and is said to have called it his best work. So we asked sci-fi, fantasy, and horror writers from the realms of books, TV, movies, and games to take a shot themselves.
To enter the contest, all you have to do is write a six-word story - or many stories - and post them on your blog. Check the directions!
Here's the current list of six-word stories. Entry deadline: Sunday, Jan. 21.
Too fun . . . Here's my entries.
Eat chips. Fatten up. Diet now.
His life ended. Her life began.

Sandy:
I love the places you discover!
And I love "His life ended. Her life began." When will that come out in paperback...I hate paying for hardback editions.

Hi Mark,
I'll give you a signed version! My husband asked if I signed that one "the black widow" instead of PurpleWren...
It is a story though. I had a friend in SD.
Glad you like my finds. It's always fun to discover new places.

Sandra, thanks for the post and for dropping by and joining the fray! We've had lots of fun and you're part of it. But don't stop now - the contest runs through Sunday!

Hi Robert,
Don't worry, I'll probably come up with more. This is great fun!

I guess I missed the deadline, but it sounds like you discovered a fun concept, I came up with this one that has meaning I think :)
"Death overturned a lifetime of obstinance."
