What NOT To Do With PowerPoint

Thanks to David Airey, I found this fun video by comedian, Don McMillan. He shows some good examples of the worst things you can do when designing an effective presentation.

I've worked with plenty of people who use the techniques he demonstrates and didn't listen to advice about what might be more effective.

What's your favorite story about presentations you gave, attended, or created?

Thanks for the mention, Sandy!

I enjoyed the video, even if the crowd are somewhat over-animated at the jokes.

Bye for now.

Hi David,

Thank you for pointing me to this video. The audience does really get into it, huh? Most everyone can relate to watching a speaker with poor PowerPoint slides.

Glad you stopped by!

Sandy,

Awesome video. Should I be concerned that it looks like he lifted this directly from one of my presentations? Now I am going to have to spend the rest of the day picking an alternative to Times Roman.

Sandy,

Good laugh for today -- and good points to remember! Thanks for showcasing it.

Too funny, Sandy. I was just rereading Seth Godin's old Powerpoint eBook. Must have been BSP!

thanks for the video..good presentation makes a good reporter..i do agree with this video..most of us makes the common mistake in using the power point we always tend to put all the words that which we all actually say.that's not really good.it will just eat the time you have suppose to discuss.Maybe you could only add the good points on slides and on your discussion that's the time you give you insights that will help you make use of your time productive and efficient.
