Writer, the Internet Typewriter
I was searching for a minimal word processor. I didn't want a lot of formatting bells and whistles - just text. Microsoft Word has a lot of hidden code that can really mess up your blog if you copy and paste.
Writer, the internet typewriter, by John Watson is one tool that I found. I love it! I can concentrate on writing and not be distracted by any of the usual clutter on my screen. Use the F11 key to expand to full screen mode. (Click on the photo to enlarge.)
And you can save the text, count it, upload it, PDF it, print it, send it to your email account or post it to a blog.
The default is this great green type on a black background or you can change the preferences for color, line spacing or font.
What word processor do you use?

I quit using Word and other 'bloatware' when it comes to typing. It's just to slow to sit there worrying about all the formatting stuff when I'm trying to bang out an idea. I used to be addicted to plain old Notepad but then I found Notepad2 and it helps because it's good for editing php and stuff like that.
I think I'll Writer tho, it looks like a great program. I really like stripped down programs that deliver specific stuff instead of try the shotgun approach.
Oh, I like Open Office (opensource Word clone, basically) when I actually have to format things properly :)

I'll have to give this one a try! It gets cumbersome typing in WORD, then pasting into Notepad before pasting into Typepad! I just got Microsoft Office reinstalled on my system and I love it for other applications, but not for web! Thanks for the tip!

I can't stand using any of those softwares. Things seem to always get messed up when I transfer the text over. And don't even get me started on Youtube code.

Though Microsoft Word is the good word processor, but have too many features, so most bloggers don't like it. The fact is that MS Word is good for professional and office work.
For blogs I also use Notepad. It's the best, simple plain text editor. Notepad2 is also good.

I've tried that minimal typewriter. Try adding some white noise, they both make a great productivity booster.

I like to use Word, then copy into notepad, and paste into DreamWeaver. I used this for my Marketing PPT post on my blog and it worked out well
