Wordless Wednesday: Traveling

My apologies for the lack of posts. My only excuse is I've been traveling and living life. What have you been doing this summer?

Wordless Wednesday:

As a small business owner I'm always on the lookout for articles that pertain to us. This one has a lot of really useful tips and examples of how other business owners are coping in today's business world.  I don't know about you, but I tend to get "consumed" with work and need a reality check every once in awhile. Besides, we function better when we have balance and don't work all the time.

Wordless Wednesday: A Day Without a Toshiba...

I just got my Toshiba back after it spent a day at the computer spa... getting cleaned up and reconfigured. It had a virus. It's amazing how much I depend on having it right here, ready at any time. Have you had your laptop cleaned up lately?

Wordless Wednesday: What do you see?

We all see different things when we look at a photo. Our view of the world reflects how we interpret pictures.  My husband saw this photo of clouds and said, "put up your dukes, Iowa." I saw bird heads. Hmmm... What do you see?

Restoration of Flood-Damaged Photos

Boatpic

Now that the flood waters are beginning to recede, people are able to get in and assess damage. One of the most heart-wrenching things is the loss of precious photos. They cannot be replaced. However, they may be able to be restored. There is an organization called Operation Photo Rescue that was started after Katrina and they are open to helping where they can in Iowa. They are a network of volunteers who can repair photographs damaged by natural disasters - at no cost to the owner.

And, there is a local photographer who is involved - Kevin Barber of Barber Photography. He is gathering other volunteers who may be able to help. Contact him today if you can help, or if you have damaged photos and need help.

Here's tips for salvaging flood and water damaged photos. It's important to take immediate action - and the right steps.

Wordless Wednesday: Momentarily Forgetting the Floods of '08

Fans took time off to enjoy the Iowa Cubs game now that the ballpark is not threatened by floodwaters.

Wordless Wednesday: Sandbagged

Iowa is getting more rain today and people have been preparing for the worst. Here's just one photo from downtown Des Moines.

Wordless Wednesday: Rain...

We've been having a LOT of rain lately. The other day I was trying to put a positive spin on it, and noticed that the birds are happy. They are busy searching for worms. It's a good reminder to look for the good in everything.

Did you know that the state bird of Iowa is the goldfinch?

Wordless Wednesday: Talk, talk, talk

Do you ever feel hear like you're talking at people and nobody is listening? How about having a conversation instead?
